Dom released his debut mix tape, entitled "25th Hour," in the Spring of 2008 and has received wide scale recognition and a measurable buzz since then. With the smash-hit single, "Watermelon Sundae," along with accompanying video, Dom was able to gain more exposure through web blogs, websites and the booming West Coast rap scene. In December 2008, Dom was interviewed by Vibe for their "New West" article to spread the word about Dom Kennedy along with the long list of extremely talented artists coming out of California, specifically the city of Los Angeles.
With his sophomore release, Dom Kennedy's "FutureStreet/DrugSounds" is already becoming the talk of the town, musically. With exceptional production from the likes of Chuck Inglish (Cool Kids), J Skillz, Ski Team, L.A.U.S.D, Brandun DeShay, Drew Byrd, etc., "FutureStreet/DrugSounds" is an album that is definitely worth listening to. You can expect a wide-range of diverse subject matters on the songs displayed on FS/DS. At such an early point in Dom Kennedy's career, "FutureStreet/DrugSounds" is an excellent introduction to most and a perfect reminder to others that Dom Kennedy is a name to be remembered and recognized.
